In the face of ongoing conflicts, violence, human rights violations, and climate change, a significant number of women scientists are forced to leave from their homes and countries. Many of them are not able to resume their studies after experiencing displacement.

The Women in Science Displacement Outreach Master’s Program (OWSD WISDOM) is a new initiative addressing the challenges these women encounter. With the primary goal of empowering women in STEM fields, OWSD WISDOM offers fully-funded master’s degree scholarships to those who have sought refuge due to such adverse circumstances. This program not only ensures that displaced women scientists are able to remain active in their respective scientific fields but also enables them to sustain meaningful scientific careers despite displacement.

Istanbul Aydin University and UNESCO OWSD are partnering to offer displaced women fully funded scholarships to help them pursue their education in Masters Program in Türkiye.
